Santa Rosa Middle School offers an Integrated Science program through 7th and 8th grade based on the Next Generation Science Standards. Our hands-on, exploratory curriculum encourages students to construct meaning about essential scientific concepts through the lens of multiple science disciplines including life science, chemistry, physics, ecology, and earth science. Hands-on, exploratory labs are an integral part of each unit. Students construct models, gather evidence, and problem solve. Engineering is integrated as students build throughout the units. Critical thinking skills are developed as students analyze data and make connections to their own lives. Reading comprehension and note taking skills are developed and practiced.
